The Mandalika, October 2, 2025 – Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is not only about world-class racing action, but also about bringing positive impact to the surrounding communities. In collaboration with Dorna Sports, InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) launched the #IndonesianGP Go To Schools program, engaging more than 400 students from two schools in Pujut District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB): SD Negeri Ngolang and Nurul Ijtihad NU Lenser Islamic Boarding School.
Today’s activity (Thursday, October 2) featured direct participation from several Moto2 and Moto3 riders, including Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP), Alonso Lopez (Speed Up Racing), Jake Dixon (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), Tony Arbolino (Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team), and Indonesia’s own Mario Aji (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia).
The riders not only introduced the students to the world of MotoGP™, but also emphasized the importance of road safety, protective gear, and traffic discipline. The children took part in fun, interactive learning sessions, including traffic safety education with the Traffic Police Unit. This initiative aligns with Dorna’s Racing for the Future program, designed to provide education and inspiration for younger generations.
Troy Warokka, Chairman of MotoGP™ 2025, highlighted that this is a breakthrough initiative for MotoGP™ in The Mandalika. “The goal is not only to introduce MotoGP™ to the students, but also to instill road safety awareness from an early age, strengthen human resources, and inspire young people to dream big through education and first-hand experiences with world-class riders,” he stated.
Akhmad Mushlihuddin, Principal of SDN Ngolang, expressed pride in his school being chosen for the program, “Having international riders visit our school is a great
inspiration for both our students and teachers. It shows that reaching the world stage requires hard work and dedication,” he said.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Moto2 rider Mario Aji shared his excitement about returning to Lombok, “I’m happy to share my experience with the students here. I hope it inspires them to dream boldly and pursue those dreams with passion,” he said.
The #IndonesianGP Go To Schools program will continue on Friday, October 3, 2025, with two additional activities: a Paddock Tour for 200 students, and Students Go to Circuit, where 1,000 students from 21 high schools and vocational schools in Central Lombok will experience the excitement of MotoGP™ up close.
Through these initiatives, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 becomes more than just a racing event – it is also a platform for education, inspiration, and community empowerment in West Nusa Tenggara.
