Mandalika, October 11, 2026 — The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 set a new record with a total of 157,875 spectators throughout the event. This figure represents a 12.5% increase compared to the 2025 edition, which recorded 140,324 spectators, further demonstrating the growing public enthusiasm for MotoGP Mandalika.
In the main MotoGP race, Marco Bezzecchi emerged as the winner. Meanwhile, Izan Guevara won the Moto2 class, while Maximo Quiles claimed victory in Moto3 and secured the 2026 Moto3 World Championship title in Mandalika.
InJourney President Director Maya Watono stated that this achievement not only demonstrates Mandalika’s growing appeal as a world-class sport tourism destination but also proves Indonesia’s ability to host international mega-events in accordance with global standards.
“This record number of spectators is about more than just figures. It is a source of pride for Indonesia. We have demonstrated that Indonesia is capable of hosting world-class sporting events while delivering tangible benefits to the community. MotoGP Mandalika must continue to serve as a catalyst for driving the local economy, strengthening MSMEs, creating jobs, and making Indonesia increasingly recognized around the world,” Maya said.
Indonesia’s pride was further enhanced by the performances of two national riders in front of their home crowd. Veda Ega Pratama finished sixth in the Moto3 class, while Mario Suryo Aji completed the Moto2 race in 20th place. Their participation forms an important part of MotoGP Mandalika’s legacy in developing the national motorsport ecosystem while inspiring a new generation of Indonesian riders to compete on the world stage.
As the state-owned enterprise holding company for the aviation and tourism sectors, InJourney, together with ITDC and MGPA, continues to strengthen the Mandalika ecosystem through destination development, improved connectivity, and greater involvement of local communities and businesses.
During the 2025 edition, MotoGP Mandalika engaged more than 3,000 local workers and over 600 MSMEs, with an estimated national economic impact of IDR 4.96 trillion. This achievement serves as an important benchmark for the 2026 edition, alongside the increase in spectator numbers and economic activity throughout this year’s Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
“For us, the success of MotoGP does not end when the checkered flag is waved. The legacy we want to build is one in which more tourists visit Mandalika, more MSMEs grow, more jobs are created, and Indonesia’s position on the global tourism map becomes stronger. This is how MotoGP becomes part of Indonesia’s journey toward global recognition,” Maya said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 and InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Director of Operations, Troy Warokka, expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of this year’s event, including the central and regional governments, ministries and institutions, security personnel, sponsor partners, communities, MSMEs, volunteers, and the people of West Nusa Tenggara.
“We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026. Organizing an event of this scale requires close coordination and cooperation among various stakeholders, from the government and security personnel to event partners and the local communities who supported activities throughout the Mandalika area,” Troy said.
He explained that this collaboration provides an important foundation for continuously improving the quality of international event management at The Mandalika. In addition to ensuring the smooth running of the races, MotoGP also forms part of the efforts to optimize the use of the area, encourage local business participation, and expand economic opportunities that benefit surrounding communities.
Troy added that the experience gained from this year’s event would serve as an evaluation basis for future events, covering inter-stakeholder coordination, operational readiness, and community involvement.
“We want every MotoGP event in Mandalika to deliver greater added value, not only for the area and the tourism industry but also for the people of West Nusa Tenggara. Therefore, the synergy that has been established must be continuously maintained so that the benefits of hosting international events can be enjoyed sustainably,” Troy concluded.
