The Mandalika, October 2, 2025 – A new milestone has been achieved for Indonesia’s motorsport scene. The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, located in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has officially been awarded Grade A Homologation by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). This top-tier certification confirms that Mandalika has met all technical and safety requirements to host the world’s premier motorcycle racing events, including MotoGP™.
With this certification, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is officially cleared to stage the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 on October 3–5, 2025, one of the key rounds in the FIM Grand Prix World Championship calendar.
Thorough FIM Inspection: Rigorous and Transparent
The Grade A Homologation was granted following a detailed inspection on Thursday (October 2, 2025) by an FIM team led by Tomé Alfonso (MotoGP™ Safety Officer), together with Paul King (Chairman of the FIM CCR Circuits Homologation Committee), representatives from Dorna Sports, the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA).
The inspection assessed several critical aspects, including:
● Track Infrastructure: The 4.301-meter circuit with 17 corners meets international standards, accommodating up to 32 MotoGP riders and 60 riders for endurance racing.
● Safety Features: Latest homologated barriers (FRHPba-01), reinforced gravel beds, and a global-standard drainage system.
● Marshal Equipment & Signaling: Installation of FIM Grade 1 & 2 homologated LED panels, flagging equipment, and emergency communication lines.
● Long Lap Penalty Zone: Configured in line with the latest FIM regulations.
● Supporting Facilities: Paddock, race control, medical center, and logistics infrastructure, all aligned with world-class racing operations.
Further upgrades carried out by ITDC and MGPA since early September include repainting track markings, restructuring tyre barriers, improving run-off areas, cleaning marshal posts, upgrading CCTV to 4K, adding four new digital flag points, and strengthening race control and telemetry systems with fiber optic redundancy.
A Landmark for Indonesia
Earning the FIM Grade A status places Mandalika on par with legendary circuits such as Mugello, Silverstone, Assen, and Sepang. The recognition carries major significance:
● Highest Safety Standards: Ensuring rider safety at the global benchmark level.
● International Trust: Strengthening Mandalika’s position as a motorsport hub in Southeast Asia.
● Economic Impact: Expected to attract hundreds of thousands of domestic and international spectators, boosting tourism for NTB and Indonesia.
Official Statement
Priandhi Satria, President Director of MGPA, expressed his pride in this achievement: “Receiving FIM Grade A Homologation is more than a technical certification—it’s an international acknowledgment that The Mandalika has reached the highest standard in world motorcycle racing. MGPA, together with all stakeholders, is fully committed to ensuring every detail of the track, safety systems, and operations adhere to FIM regulations. With this, we are ready to welcome MotoGP riders and teams to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025.”

On the same day, riders also carried out their track familiarization walk, reviewing recent updates at several run-off areas including exits at Turn 1, Turn 5, Turn 10, and Turn 13.
