The Golo Mori 14 September 2026 – PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), continues to strengthen connectivity and infrastructure readiness in The Golo Mori area as a Sustainable Marine-Based MICE Tourism Destination in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). One of these efforts is realized through the completion of the construction and operational readiness of the The Golo Mori heliport.
The Golo Mori heliport facility is now ready for operation after all required facility readiness and operational licensing processes have been completed. The facility is part of the area's infrastructure development aimed at strengthening accessibility to The Golo Mori, particularly for premium tourists, VIP guests, business travelers, as well as MICE participants and organizers. General Manager of The Golo Mori, Aji Munarwiyanto, stated that the heliport's readiness is an important step in strengthening supporting infrastructure at The Golo Mori, in line with the growing tourism and MICE activities in the area.
“With the completion of all facility readiness and licensing processes, the Golo Mori heliport is ready to support the area's connectivity needs. The facility provides an alternative means of access to The Golo Mori, particularly for premium tourists, VIP guests, business travelers, and MICE participants who require greater flexibility in accessing the area,” said Aji.
The Golo Mori continues to develop as a tourism destination that integrates MICE facilities and tourism experiences within a single area. The Golo Mori Convention Center (GMCC) serves as the main facility supporting a wide range of activities, including meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, corporate gatherings, incentive trips, as well as national and international events. The growth of activities in the area is also reflected in visitor numbers. During the first half of 2026, The Golo Mori recorded 13,610 visits, demonstrating the growing interest in the area as one of the MICE and tourism destinations in Labuan Bajo.
Amid this development, strengthening connectivity is an important part of ensuring that the area has adequate supporting facilities to accommodate the diverse needs of visitors. Located approximately 45 minutes from central Labuan Bajo, The Golo Mori now offers an alternative means of access by air through the availability of the heliport facility.
“This heliport is not merely a transportation support facility, but also part of our efforts to build an increasingly integrated destination ecosystem. For MICE activities, air access can provide greater flexibility for participants and selected guests. Meanwhile, for premium tourists, this facility can enrich travel options and experiences while they are in Labuan Bajo,” explained Aji.
The Golo Mori heliport was constructed with dimensions of 24 x 24 meters and is capable of accommodating helicopters with a maximum capacity and load of up to 12,000 kilograms. The facility is equipped with various operational and safety support systems, including navigation lights, air communication systems, weather equipment, firefighting equipment, and other safety facilities. The heliport's readiness also creates opportunities for the development of aerial tourism experiences in Labuan Bajo. With its distinctive landscape of hills, seas, and clusters of islands, helicopter services have the potential to become one of the tourism options offering a different perspective on the beauty of the area.
To support the development of these services, ITDC, through The Golo Mori, is open to collaboration with helicopter operators and aviation service providers, both for charter services, joy flights, scenic flights, and services supporting MICE activities and premium tourism.
“We see significant potential for the development of aerial tourism in Labuan Bajo. Going forward, we are open to collaborating with operator partners who can provide safe, high-quality services that are aligned with the characteristics of the destination and market needs,” said Aji.
For MICE activities, the availability of the heliport provides an additional supporting facility for organizers and participants, particularly for the mobility needs of selected guests. Meanwhile, for premium tourists, the facility creates opportunities for more exclusive and personalized travel experiences. Strengthening connectivity facilities is also in line with the development of MICE activities at The Golo Mori. In addition to recording growth in visitor numbers, the area is demonstrating increasingly strong MICE activity potential, reflected in the average MICE expenditure per person, which has reached nearly three times the company's target.
This development demonstrates that The Golo Mori has potential not only as a venue for events and activities, but also as an area with opportunities to further develop a premium tourism business ecosystem in Labuan Bajo.
