CocoSam, Monkey Cave, and Teh Prabu Receive Awards in Entrepreneurship, Environmental, and Digital Economy Categories
The Mandalika, November 5, 2026 – Three Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) supported by PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), also known as InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), from Central Lombok Regency, have received awards at the 2026 West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Level Pemuda Pelopor Desa competition. Their achievements span the fields of entrepp, environment, and digital economy, demonstrating the potential of local business innovation in developing village resources.
The awards, announced by the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Department of Education, Youth, and Sports on October 22, 2026, were presented to Samsudin, S.Kom., through CocoSam, which secured First Place in the Entrepreneurship category; Ida Yanti, S.E., through Monkey Cave, which won Second Place in the Environment category; and L. Zaktyurrahman through Teh Prabu, which secured Second Place in the Digital Economy category. Following this achievement, CocoSam has the opportunity to advance to the national-level competition, subject to further verification by the organizers.
General Manager of The Mandalika, I Made Pari Wijaya, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the three ITDC-supported MSMEs. According to him, these accomplishments reflect the potential of local communities to develop businesses that generate economic value while delivering benefits to the surrounding environment.
“We are proud to see ITDC-supported local MSMEs achieve recognition at the provincial level. These accomplishments demonstrate that the creativity and potential of surrounding communities have opportunities to grow further. Through product marketing assistance and financial support, we strive to help business owners strengthen their capabilities and expand their market access,” said Pari.
One of the award recipients, Samsudin, is a young entrepreneur from Sukadana Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, who developed CocoSam by processing local coconut resources into value-added products, including Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). This innovation earned him First Place in the Entrepreneurship category and opened up an opportunity to advance to the national-level competition.
“This award motivates me to continue developing CocoSam and introduce locally sourced coconut-based products to a wider audience. I am also grateful to ITDC for the support and assistance provided, particularly in helping us develop and market our business. I hope CocoSam will continue to grow and bring greater benefits to the surrounding community,” said Samsudin.
Meanwhile, Ida Yanti, through Monkey Cave, secured Second Place in the Environment category. The award recognizes her efforts in developing an environmentally sustainable nature tourism destination in Prabu Village, with a focus on wildlife habitat protection, waste management, tourism route management, and conservation education for visitors. The initiative also involves local communities through the Pesona Prabu Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), while creating economic opportunities through community-based tourism activities.
In the Digital Economy category, L. Zaktyurrahman, through Teh Prabu, secured Second Place by developing tea products made from locally grown plants in Prabu Village, Central Lombok Regency. In developing the business, Teh Prabu utilizes digital technology through QR codes on its packaging, enabling consumers to access product information, ranging from the product's origin story to preparation instructions and digital payment facilities. This innovation is further supported by a digital catalog that connects Teh Prabu's marketing activities with tourism activities at Monkey Cave, creating broader marketing opportunities while encouraging local community participation in production and sales.
The three MSMEs have received assistance from ITDC through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program, in collaboration with the Community Development function. The support has been provided in stages. Teh Prabu and Monkey Cave, which are part of a business group under the Prabu Village Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), have received assistance since July 2025. Meanwhile, CocoSam began receiving support in May 2026.
ITDC's support also includes marketing facilitation through MSME participation in various events held in The Mandalika. CocoSam, for instance, participated in the GT World Challenge. In addition, CocoSam, Teh Prabu, and Monkey Cave also took part in the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. This participation provided an opportunity to introduce local products to visitors while creating wider marketing opportunities through tourism activities.
The Pemuda Pelopor Desa competition is an annual initiative organized through collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia and relevant institutions at the provincial, regency, and city levels. The competition covers five areas of pioneering initiatives: entrepreneurship, digital economy, environment, community development, and arts and culture. The assessment considers innovation, the positive impact of participants' activities on their surrounding environment, and their contributions to improving the local community's economy.
Pari emphasized that tourism destination development should go hand in hand with creating greater economic opportunities for local communities.
“We want surrounding communities to take an active part in the growth of The Mandalika. Local MSMEs should have opportunities to develop their businesses, expand their markets, and become part of the tourism ecosystem. We hope these achievements will inspire more business owners to continue innovating and developing their potential,” concluded Pari.
